Usage
Login You cannot log in the new chat system from the communities of KWABS.COM. The login system is very easy. You choose a Nickname and click connect.
An integrated login system encompassing all the pages of the site including the message board and the chat rooms will be added in the future. This chat system is only the beginning of the implementation of a new integrated version of KWABS.COM.
Avatars They are small figures that can represent you in the chat rooms

To choose an avatar go to setting check the image you want and click save.
Emoticons or Smileys They are 16/16 pixels small icons that can represent your feelings.

Private Chat You can have a private chat with an other visitor by outlining the name and clicking on the private chat sign.
It is also possible to create your own temporary private chat room.
You will give this temporary chat room a name and password.
This can allow you to have a private meeting with your associates and lover. To create a room, click on room and then new. You will be prompted to give a name and a password to your room. The room will cease to exist when you log off the chat room. The ability to create a permanent room is a privilege given only to the chat room monitors. You can request the creation of a permanent, password protected chat room by writing to the administrator/monitor logos518@kwabs.com .
Dealing efficiently with disruptive chatters You can block messages from disruptive chatters? Simply highlight the name of the abusive user and click the "ignore user" button (the ear with a slash)! You can also alert the moderator about the behavior of the chatter. If the moderator is not present you can send your complaint via e-mail, but it is usually sufficient to ignore the disruptive chatter. He or she will get the message
Flag messages Sometimes, when there is large number of people in the chat room, it can be difficult to see the postings of one user talking directly to you or adressing a topic of particular interest . To solve this problem you can "flag" the messages from select users by highlighting the name of the chatter and clicking the "flag user" button (face with red flag)? You can also assign font colors to them by clicking "settings" and going to the "fonts" tab!
Customize your profile You can customize your profile to include your name, age, even a custom exit message if you wish? The exit message is very imposrtant, it serves to identify you and add a personal touch to your cyber personnality. To customize your profile click on "settings" and click on the "profiles" tab and enter as much, or as little, information as you want!.
Adjusting the Fonts You can adjust the size, color and style of the font in your chat window? Simply click on your "settings" button and choose the "fonts" tab for a variety of options!
Moderators Moderators are people who are given the privilege to monitor the activity of the chat rooms. Beyond the implicite fonction of maintening order, the moderator preside over moderated chat sessions when a guest is invited. KWABS.COM has presently two moderators. Within the month of December 2002, when the integrated version of the web site is completed, kwabs.com will grant monitoring privileges to a selected group of its members. You could talk about anything you want provided that the subject matter and the language remain in the limits of common decency. If you happen to offend someone just say the magic word: sorry.
Language watch A language watch feature is incorporated in the chat rooms. Offensive words or very controversial names are replaced by *** or another word. The intention of kwabs.com is not to suppress you inalienable right to express your self but to keep enforcing its right, as an organization, to have chatters that follow the rules of common decency. Kwabs.com also follow a very strict anti-harassment policy. The harassment of another chatter will result in the immediate and indefinite banishment from the chat rooms.
