New Orleans remembers Katrina with style
NEW ORLEANS - The first anniversary of the biggest calamity to befall this city was marked Tuesday with a moment of silence, wreath-layings, the tolling of bells and, in true New Orleans fashion, a wailing jazz funeral through the potholed streets for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

Ex-FEMA chief blames administration

Florida Orders Evacuation as Ernesto Brushes Haiti
Aug. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Florida ordered the mandatory evacuation today of visitors in the Florida Keys as Tropical Storm Ernesto tracked toward the state from the Caribbean. The storm became a hurricane, the first of the Atlantic season, early today, then weakened as it swept by Haiti.

FEMA Official Says Boss Ignored Warnings
WASHINGTON - In the midst of the chaos that followed Hurricane Katrina, a Federal Emergency Management Agency official in New Orleans sent a dire e-mail to Director Michael Brown saying victims had no food and were dying. No response came from Brown.

Lawmaker Wants Review of Cruise Ship Deal
