2008 was a year of historical proportion which opens a new era in american politics and possibly in the world. On November 4th, America elected the first African American as President of the United States.
By calling upon a generation to bend the arc of history and change the course of politics, Barack Obama became the symbol of the Force of Change in the 21rst century.
In this Dec. 19, 2008 file photo, President-elect Barack Obama speaks at a news conference in Chicago. Obama will inherit two wars and the worst economic conditions in three generations when he takes the oath of office on Jan. 20. (AP Photo/Gerald Herbert, File)

Above all, it will be remembered for generations to come that the country stood up, joined its voice to his and declared "yes we can" change the way we see each other, "yes we can" embrace a vision of hope and belief in the potential of all human beings regardless of race, creed and religion and "yes we can" overcome the challenges of our time. The nation is on its way toward its rebirth through the healing of its congenital imperfections. Watch the video featured below.
