CONTEXT AND GOAL
KWABS.COM will remain truthful to its intellectual agenda of being the virtual home of the West Indies and the Caribbean basin on
the web. However, this agenda does not mean the absolute exclusion of the culture of the rest of the world.
The multiplicity of cultures and nationalities woven together to form the fabric of the Caribbean experience dictates an inclusive approach.
Because of the demographic preponderance of the people of African descent, the African context dominates the culture of West Indies. However, one cannot forget that the African came to the west Indies and the Americas, in general, as slaves.
One cannot also forget that they were brought there by the European colonial powers and that the African men and women replaced the Tainos /Carib Indian which were decimated by massacres, slavery and European diseases. The consequence of the influence of these three groups of people is the creation of a cultural and political complexity which could be called a metacreole fusion. In this metacreole fusion one encounters a strong African context that has assimilated the European influence and
has also incorporated some important textual elements of the Tainos/Caribs culture.
The Caribbean is a rich mixture of the culture of all humanity. To study it thoroughly and immerse oneself completely in its culture one has to be enriched by the experience of all humanity. In other word one has to become linguistically, politically, culturally a modern Creole or a metacreole.
KWABS.COM, Karibe web answer base system, will be powered by this modern Creole or Metacreole soul which is
anchored on the Caribbean context while being opened to the experience of all people. .
As an intellectual organism, KWABS.COM will certainly meet unforeseeable challenges of growth and survival forcing it to modify its operational process. However, we want to give it a strong set of initial conditions which will remain the redundant guide of its future evolution. The conditions are the followings:
1. We believe that the Internet and the World Wide Web are a gigantic step of
mankind toward the global intellectual and cultural democratization of the planet. We also believe that this global democratization starts with the realization by each one of his infinite creative power. To serve this idea, KWABS.COM will be the redundant embodiment of the proposition that each human being is endowed by nature with the tremendous power to change the informational content of human existence and that it is her/his duty to him/herself and to the rest of humanity to use it to the
fullest.
2. With the fundamental idea of intellectual democratization in mind, the visitor should easily understand that, within the limits of decency, no branch of human activity, be it religious, mystical, scientific, philosophical, commercial, artistic etc., is out the limit of this site.
3. Our dedication to the progress of humanity forces us also to adopt an advanced synthetic view of the informational needs of our visitors. This view includes not only the branches of
